Using Saddle Soap - A Simple Step-by-Step Video
Whether you buy the Saddle Soap from the Godbolé Leather Care Range or any other such as Fiebings, the product is only as good as how you use it. It's not difficult at all, but you got to get a few basics right.
HOW TO APPLY SADDLE SOAP
Directions for Use
Using a damp cotton cloth or an applicator brush, work up a lather and clean in circular motions. Once an area has been cleaned, wipe it down with a clean cloth.
The Saddle Soap will draw out all dirt, salt stains from sweat, and to some extent, stains on the leather.
Cleaning your leather possession before conditioning is always a best practice that will remove dirt and help the Balm absorb deeper into the leather thus conditioning it much better.

Follow Up with Leather Balm
If you use saddle soap, using a leather balm is not optional for most full grain leathers
Saddle Soap does not nourish the leather. It simply strips away dirt and grime. So if your leather article feel stiff / not supple, follow up your cleaning regimen with our beeswax+almond oil Leather Balm which will keep your leather article supple and spiffy, prolonging its life by preventing drying and cracking.
This dryness is especially caused in vegetable tanned leathers (which is all our leathers) and any other full grain leathers that are not pigmented (those that have a natural looking surface).
