What are Business Belts? And what makes our Business Belts different from other Formal Belts or Dress Belts out there? These are some of the questions we got after we first put up the news out there that we are launching formal belts!
First, what are Business Belts?
We have created the Business Belt in response to our community requesting formal leather belts, or dress belts as they are also called. This leather belt is made with the same core principles as our original Lifetime Belt (which was a casual belt).
What makes our Business Belts different from other Formal Belts or Dress Belts out there?
This belt is truly unique - it is rare to find a belt that’s:

How does the Business Belt compare to the Lifetime Belt?
While the Lifetime Belt is casual or semi-casual, the Business Belt has a lot more intricacies in craftsmanship. and has a refined design language. It works very well with formal outfits, typically as part of everyday business attire. It can of course, also be worn in semi-casual settings.
For those who bought Lifetime Belts during our 2023 pre-order campaign, the above question would be especially relevant. I have laid out some key areas in which these belts are similar and different.
Core Principles:
The business belt has been made with the same core principles as the lifetime belt - they are both built with a focus on longevity. Crafted to last a lifetime, this business belt features refined craftsmanship, while using European vegetable tanned leather that passes our quality test of longevity and authenticity.
Design:
The Business Belt is fully lined, meaning the underside is made with the same leather as the top side (only not colored). The belt has a raised profile with bevelled edges, solid brass hardware and an intricate hand stitching with the saddle stitching technique.
The Lifetime Belt on the other hand, is a well-made thick slab of leather held together with brass screws and a sturdy brass buckle.
Needless to say, the Business Belt involves advanced leather-crafting skills and more hours to make than the Lifetime Belt.
Both belts have their unique appeal. One is not better than the other. You probably need one of each in your arsenal.
Leather:
There are only a handful of tanneries that make vegetable tanned leather in the world today - a form of tanning that pre-dates chrome tanning and the industrial era.
The Business Belts were actually made possible because we sourced some great leather, this time from Poland! We were super excited when we ordered it. When it arrived and we unwrapped it, we instantly felt our senses tingling - the creaking leather, the woody aroma - it was something truly special! We knew this leather would be perfect to make Business Belts.
It has been skilfully tanned by a family-run Polish tannery - Maltan who supply leather to the best and largest brands across Europe. More importantly, they pride themselves with adherence to sustainable practices. They have a gold rating from the Leather Working Group (LWG gold-rated).
Slowly vegetable tanned with tree bark over a period of nearly six weeks, this leather has been made by someone who knows the nuances of transforming raw hides into beautiful leather.
Hardware:
Just like our Lifetime Belts, we have partnered our trusted supplier for solid brass buckles. This time, we have selected designs that complement the Business Belt.
