REMOVES DIRT, GRIME AND SALT RESIDUE | 100 grams

What are the uses and benefits of Saddle Soap?

Saddle Soap is used to clean leather. When you walk around all day in your leather shoes, dust, grime and salts build up. Similarly, for often used leather goods such as bags or wallets, dirt builds up from daily use. Saddle Soap is used to draw out all dirt, and remove build-up of oily residue. It is glycerine-enriched to clean without dehydrating the leather.

Saddle Soap also prepares the leather product for absorbing the Leather Balm.

Using Saddle Soap - A Simple Step-by-Step Video

Whether you buy the Saddle Soap from the Godbolé Leather Care Range or any other such as Fiebings, the product is only as good as how you use it. It's not difficult at all, but you got to get a few basics right.

step by step instructions

HOW TO APPLY SADDLE SOAP

Directions for Use

Using a damp cotton cloth or an applicator brush, work up a lather and clean in circular motions. Once an area has been cleaned, wipe it down with a clean cloth.

The Saddle Soap will draw out all dirt, salt stains from sweat, and to some extent, stains on the leather.

When you have finished cleaning, let it rest in a cool dry place and dry naturally. NEVER USE A HAIR DRYER or Blow Dryer to dry leather faster.

After Drying, if the leather article feels dehydrated or rigid, apply Leather Balm to add back natural oils to the leather. Leather Balm also increases the life span of the leather article because it prevents leather from drying out from the inside.

Follow Up with Leather Balm

If you use saddle soap, using a leather balm is not optional for most full grain leathers

Saddle Soap does not nourish the leather. It simply strips away dirt and grime. So if your leather article feels stiff / not supple, follow up your cleaning regimen with our beeswax+almond oil Leather Balm which will keep your leather article supple and spiffy, prolonging its life by preventing drying and cracking.

This dryness is especially caused in vegetable tanned leathers (which is all our leathers) and any other full grain leathers that are not pigmented (those that have a natural looking surface).

A good product which is not harsh on the leather.

A quality Saddle soap and is not harsh on the leather. I used it on different leather boots to clean away molds, not only did it help but had no adverse effect on color and texture of my leather boots. I Definitely recommend this product. Look forward for more such products from Godbole.

Saddle Soap-Leather Cleaner

I haven't used it yet but by judging it seems to be of good quality. Though a little hard.

Hi Dharamvir, Thank you for taking the time to write a review! You bring up a good point. Yes the soap is a bit hard. It is similar to a bar soap. It has a very high glycerine content and a neutral ph but it does not have a high content of oils. The oils would make it softer but also make it less effective at drawing out dirt and grime from the leather.
