Dimensions
What Sets it Apart
This wallet is designed and built to last a lifetime. The only material used in each wallet is 1.2 mm thick full grain vegetable tanned leather. No fillers, no fabric, no compromises.
Completely handmade from start to finish - hand cut and hand stitched using the saddle stitching technique; edges are burnished beautifully.
Full grain leather means the top grain has not been sanded off. This makes the leather strong and resilient. It takes whatever life throws at it and ages beautifully.
Most wallets in the market are made using a thin layer (0.3 - 0.5 mm) of 'genuine' leather and lined with fabric where stiffness and rigidity is provided by adding in foam fillers.
Monogram Option
Choose Monogramming (Name stamping) service if you would like to have your initials imprinted on the leather. We use a technique called debossing, for which a special custom brass stamp is made for your initials.
Up to 3 Letters
Font: Times New Roman
***Let us know the initials in the order notes during checkout.***
If you would like more than 3 letters, please get in touch with us for the pricing.
Materials
We are very picky about what we make our wallets with! Feel free to reach out with more questions.
Leather:
Thread:
Made in Germany, Braided Waxed Polyester, Rated Strength 20 kg
Breaking in
The pockets may feel firmer in the beginning compared to conventional wallets you may have bought in the past. The leather we use is much firmer and thicker, it will need a "breaking in" period as it expands a bit to accommodate the things you put in it.
Making Process
The wallet is hand stitched using a single thread and two needles. This is a time honored saddlery technique called saddle-stitching that makes a very durable seam. The stitching will not unravel easily even if a couple of stitches break (unlikely since our thread has enough strength to hold up 20 kgs).
It takes 8 -10 hours to carefully cut, hand stitch and edge burnish this leather wallet.
All edges have been carefully burnished with saddle-soap and beeswax to extend the life of the wallet.

I am sure this wallet will be with me for a long time. I look forward to seeing it develop a lovely patina. The leather is lovely and the craftsmanship is excellent. An handmade article is a thing of beauty, in which a little bit of the craftsman's soul resides, or so I believe. If you love handmade articles and value a well made product which you would love to see weather well over the years you would love this. I look forward to purchasing a lovely handmade briefcase or tablet cover from Godbole gear.
